Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we are asked most often about Sivis, with answers.
Why can't I post a message?
If a Siv is still on stage with time left, no new message can be posted. The lock icon next to the share button shows this. The button unlocks when the current message's countdown ends.
How long does my message stay up?
Every Siv starts with 5 minutes. Each torch adds 12 seconds and each inspiration adds 24 seconds, so the more attention it gets the longer it lives.
Are expired messages deleted?
No. Faded Sivs are archived under "Echoes", where they remain searchable and filterable.
What is the difference between a torch and inspiration?
A torch is a like and adds 12 seconds to the message's life. Inspiration is a comment and adds 24 seconds. Inspiration counts for more because it takes more effort.
Can I take back a torch I lit?
Yes. Tap the torch icon again and it goes out, and the message's remaining time is reduced accordingly.
Am I really anonymous when I post anonymously?
Your name, country, age and other profile details are hidden on the card, and the message is not listed on your public profile. Your account remains linked to it internally so abuse reports can be reviewed.
Why am I being made to wait?
You wait 15 minutes after a successful post and 10 minutes after an attempt that missed the stage. This stops a small group of users from taking over the single stage.
Can I put a link in my message?
No. Messages containing links are rejected to prevent spam. Messages can be at most 280 characters.
I saw inappropriate content — what should I do?
Use the report button on the message card. Reports are reviewed by hand and content that breaks the rules is removed.
How is the World Arena ranked?
By the total number of torches collected by Sivs posted from each country.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. You can request account closure from your profile settings or contact us. When an account is deleted your profile information is removed.
Is Sivis free?
Yes. Sivis is free and is supported by advertising revenue.
